This ANTI TRIBE IS A DISGRACE!

I am surprised and flabergasted at the fact that SF, a city and community known for it understanding and long history of tolerance spew this kind of hatred and vile trash. Charles Shaw happens to be a close family member, and I i find this ANTI CHUCK tribe to be offensive on many levels. If it wasnt for him, many UN priveledged people would have never had the luxory of tasting wine that is good. At $2.00 at TJ's even a family with a median income of $60,000 can afford this wine! This ALONE is a tremendous legacy! Let alone bringing wine to the forefront burner of accompanying meals (rather that trashy sodas and cheap fake juices). Charles is my uncle and I am dam proud of what he has done ... and this tribe is a disgrace to his name. I demand it get taken down this week!

    calm down sweetie, we have the right to voice our opinions about what we choose to drink. I find it amusing that you are concerned for the family who makes $60,000 a year and whether or not they can afford wine. I make about half that much and can always afford a good bottle when I want one. Some of us know good wine, and unfortunately Tw0-buck Chucks is not good wine, whether you know him or not! Just because folks are tolerant doesn't mean they have to drink bad wine. I suggest you take your demands elsewhere.

      I never said it GREAT wine, but its not trash you know what I mean? Its not Gallo or wine in a box. I bet you if it were packaged in a better looking bottle, different name (blind experiment) and priced at $29 people would rave about it and so would you.

      I understans my demands are un realistic, but please do not call my uncles wine trash. It is not bad wine. I have sipped $1000.00 bottle wine in Marseilles ... and in comparison this is not BAD at all. I have drank $50.00 bottle vinigar too. Any who ... keep your site up ... but i still think you folks are not appreciating the legacy Charlie has brought to you. OH and FYI ... he HATES being called Chuck!

        if folks raved about it and convinced me to buy a bottle at 30 bucks I would hunt down and kill those who wasted my hard earned cash.

        now, friends of mine drink this stuff and seem to enjoy it and that is all well and good. I will drink it if I am at a friends place and they serve it because I want to be a good guest. But 30 bucks? No fucking way. Maybe $6 but I have had some argentine wines for $6 that shred the CS Cab.

      look I am not saying to SETTLE ... people ... what happened to reading and comprehension? I am saying it is NOT trash, that for the dollar amount it go's way past in value and taste. And I never said settle for second best ... I would rather be sipping a 99 Ch. La Mission Haut Brion and 2001 Charles Shaw. Anywho ... end tranmission.

    $2 chuck is one of the worst wines ever. This one guy from France came over here and tried some and puked. Yes, it was the Cab, which is even worse than the Merlot. Can you say grape soda.

      Interesting. I'll admit that I won't drink any bottle of Chuck straight except the merlot. The merlot honestly is a decent table wine, the cab tastes fine if you mix it one to one with grape juice. Anyway, back to my point, after spending a little while in Italy and France last year my travel partner and I came to the conclusion that cheap Italian wines weren't half bad but that we'd die before drinking another bottle of cheap french wine. Don't get me wrong, good french wines are great (Hey! So are good California wines, hrm?), but I challenge any bottle of french wine costing less than five euro's to go head to head with a 2BC merlot.

        LMAO... Ok... I found this tribe by accident... and read this thread as it caught my eye (like a fishhook). I about wet myself reading torso boy's claims. LOL... Does he have an Aunt Mad Dog too?

        Then to find out it was a joke by a Truth or Dare tribe... OMG. You all are a hoot. Can I come in and play too? Although I'm not quite an affecianado, I know what I like when it comes to wine. I might even have something fun and informative to add now and then.

          I am into a "deal" as much as the next guy, but the reds are SWILL! I think the Sav Blanc is the most decent and would personally keep it for an everyday summer wine. I would NEVER SERVE it to guests or bring to a party as an offering.

            I don't know which is better, this tribe or this thread. :)

            Never drink the Franzia family of offerings myself, though I've been meaning to grab a box and a bottle and compare them. In all the blind tastings friends have tried to sneak onto me, they've never used the Franzia box wine. Carlo Rossi, E&J, all the other juggy suspects, sure.

              How about some spanish or french , even a decent ( and cheap ) sangiovese based wine, anything other than the usual
              and boring varietals can be found for under $ 10.
              I still do not know what was meant by 60,000 a year income families being able to afford this crap. If I was making that much I'll be drinking 1er Crus or a good Montalcino every night.

              Then again wine like many things is a subjective matter, otherwise there would not be a market for it.
